Are you missing teeth and embarrassed to smile? Dental implants are a permanent and durable restorative solution that can help you reclaim your confident, healthy smile.
Dental implants are small titanium posts that serve as replacements for the root portions of missing natural teeth. Because of the biocompatible properties of titanium, dental implants fuse with the surrounding bone to become solid anchors for the crowns, bridges, or dentures that go on top of them.
We want your visits to be efficient and gentle. Stratman Family Dentistry is dedicated to being your dentist in Tucson.

Dr. Matthew Stratman
Dr. Stratman graduated cum laude from the University of Arizona with a degree in molecular and cellular biology. He then went on to complete his dental degree at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Stratman has advanced training in dental implantology.
He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for a dental implantology preceptorship and has a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Stratman is able to place and restore the implants in one office, so you don’t have to go to many different offices to get your implant needs met.
Dental implants are used to replace one or multiple missing teeth, and they’re also an effective way to anchor dentures so you can enjoy your favorite foods again. Whether you’re missing one tooth or all of your teeth, there’s an implant option for you!
A single dental implant has three parts: the titanium post that’s surgically connected to your jaw bone, the abutment that is attached to the top of the post and the crown that connects to the abutment. One of the greatest advantages of single dental implants is that they enable Dr. Stratman to replace a missing tooth without having to use the surrounding teeth for support. They’re also easy to care for—you just brush and floss them along with your other natural teeth—so they tend to last a very long time.
An implant-supported bridge is an excellent way to replace three or more teeth. Bridges can usually be attached to one or two implants, depending on the size and location of the bridge. Unlike traditional dental bridges, implant-supported bridges don’t require Dr. Stratman to shave down the teeth next to the missing tooth. This not only saves you from unnecessary treatment, but it also protects your jawbone from weakening as a result of the additional shaving of those surrounding teeth.
An overdenture is a special type of denture designed to fit over existing teeth or connect to an implant. In the case of an implant-supported overdenture, the prosthetic is held in place by implants rather than resting directly on the gums. You’ll save your soft tissues from a lot of discomfort, and you’ll also have better stability and control with an implant-supported overdenture.
Just like the name implies, the All-on-4 procedure uses just four implants to replace an entire arch. All-on-4 is structured specifically for patients missing most or all of their teeth, mainly because it can produce exceptional results even if the jaw bone has receded. If your gums and jawbone are healthy enough to support the implants, you could be leaving our office with beautiful new teeth in just one visit! Every case is different, so Dr. Stratman will perform a thorough examination of your mouth, gums and jawbone to decide if you would benefit from a bone graft prior to the dental implant procedure.
Dental implants may be small, but they can make a big difference in almost every area of your life. With implants, you’ll enjoy:
And the most important benefit of dental implants: a boost in your self-esteem. It’s never too late to feel confident showing off your smile!

Implants can be a life-changer for people with advanced tooth decay, root canal failure, trauma to the mouth, or extreme natural wear and tear on teeth. The implant process can be more complicated for individuals with gum disease, active diabetes, and immune deficiencies, and for people who smoke or chew tobacco. Dr. Stratman will consult with you about your medical history and oral health habits to help you decide if implants are right for you.
Any person can have dental implants as long as there is enough bone available in which to place the implants. However, implants are usually more successful in adults and older teens whose bones have finished developing.
We provide a local anesthetic that will keep you comfortable throughout the implant placement procedure. Any mild discomfort you might experience after surgery can be alleviated with both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
As with many surgical procedures, dental implant fees will vary from doctor to doctor. Dr. Stratman will go over all fees associated with the dental implant treatment at your first appointment. Because he will place and restore the dental implant himself, rather than referring you to another office, our fees will be lower than average.
The implant procedure has many components, which makes the fees for dental implants a little different than most general dental treatments. Even in the case of a single tooth implant, there are three aspects:
We will cover all of these costs in great detail with you prior to beginning any treatment. There will never be any hidden or surprise fees.
