With the revolutionary CEREC® system, we can create and place custom dental restorations in just one visit. CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology to design and create custom-made crowns, inlays, and onlays in about an hour. CAD/CAM stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. Unlike traditional restorative dentistry, CAD/CAM offers:
- Precise digital imaging without the need for messy and time-consuming impressions
- No uncomfortable plastic temporaries while your crown is sent off to a lab for remote fabrication
- Beautiful, natural-looking results in one easy appointment
Our same-day treatments are convenient & efficient!
How Does CEREC Work?
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramc REConstruction) creates a digital impression of your mouth and renders it into a 3D virtual model. This relinquishes the messy and uncomfortable impression tray to a thing of the past! By utilizing an intraoral camera, the technician will take one or more scans on the inside of your mouth and send it a computer for processing. CEREC is safe, precise, and fast!
The CAD/CAM software renders the scans of your mouth into a 3D model of your new tooth. Your technician uses that model to create your brand new crown with high-quality ceramic. All of this happens while you are still sitting in your chair! This means no waiting in between appointments for lab work. One-visit crowns mean exactly that, a single appointment and you will walk away with a brand new crown.
CEREC can be utilized for other dental practices as well. Whether you are needing a new crown, onlay, inlay, or bridge, you may be a CEREC candidate. This new and powerful dental technology means less appointments and more free time to flash your new smile!
Milling & Placement
CEREC restorations are made of a biocompatible ceramic material that can be adjusted to match the natural color of your other healthy teeth. We insert a block of the ceramic material into our onsite CEREC milling unit, which then constructs your restoration according to the exact specifications outlined by the virtual model. After only 15 minutes or so, your restoration is ready to be placed. Because the computer-aided manufacturing is extremely precise, you’re sure to have a great fit when your newly milled crown, filling, or veneer is polished and bonded to your tooth.
