Our teeth serve many important duties: chewing food so our stomach can digest it properly, making your smile look charming and unique, assisting your tongue for talking, and no, using them to open your bottle cap is not one of them. Even though our teeth are some of the most used parts of our bodies, they tend to be taken for granted without much thought, until something goes wrong. The day your tooth has an ache or is subject to trauma is a bad day indeed and can cause you a lot of discomfort. That is where restorative dentistry comes into play!
At Stratman Family Dentistry, we place a lot of emphasis on restorative dental care because we want every single one of our patients to have a smile that is not only beautiful, but functional as well! If your smile isn't where it should be, contact us today for your restorative care!
Fillings are used in many kinds of dental procedures. They can repair chipped or broken teeth, are used to fill in the holes where cavities were drilled out, and more. At Stratman Family Dentistry, we use only composite tooth colored fillings so that your smile will look completely untarnished.
One-Visit Porcelain Crowns with CEREC
A crown is essentially a cap that fits over a tooth. Crowns are used to repair teeth that are cracked or broken, they are used in dental bridges, and they are attached to dental implants. In other words, they are replacement teeth! At Stratman Family Dentistry, we have a CEREC machine that will take precise measurements and mill your new crown, ready to be placed all in about an hour. This means you don't have to wait weeks for your new crown to be created in an offsite laboratory, you'll be able to walk away from your appointment with a brand new smile, crown and all!

Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics)
Sometimes decay can reach into the root of your tooth and cause an infection. This infection is usually very painful and requires immediate attention from your Tucson Dentist, Dr. Stratman. When the infection runs that deep, it is important to remove the bacteria and infected area so your tooth can heal. To do this, Dr. Stratman uses a very precise tool and drills down through the top of the tooth to the root. He will clean the area and then fill it in all the way to the top. The end result will be a natural tooth clean of infection!
Extractions & Wisdom Teeth Removal
If a tooth has too much decay or is causing you problems, sometimes the only solution is to extract it for replacement. Oral surgery sounds painful, but you can rest assured knowing that Dr. Stratman will make sure you are comfortable and have anesthesia during the course of the procedure so you will not feel discomfort.
Wisdom teeth are the final set of teeth to erupt, and typically arrive later in your teens or your early twenties. Through x-rays, Dr. Stratman can tell if they will come in correctly or will disrupt your existing teeth. Most of the time, wisdom teeth will cause trouble by pushing your existing teeth out of alignment, or not fully erupt and become impacted and infected. If Dr. Stratman determines that your wisdom teeth will cause more damage than good, he will recommend to have them removed so you don't have to worry about them ever again.
